Concept
A synonym is a word that means the same (or nearly the same) as another word. An antonym means the opposite. Building a strong vocabulary means knowing many synonyms so you can choose the most precise word for your writing.
Activity
Ask your child: 'What is another word for happy? What is the opposite of happy?' Brainstorm together for two minutes before starting the worksheet.
Check
