- 1Get 10 buttons, blocks, or snacks. Ask your child to split them into two groups as many different ways as they can.
- 2Play 'Shake and Spill' -- put 7 two-colour counters (or coins) in a cup, shake and tip out. How many heads? How many tails? That is a number bond!
- 3Use a muffin tin with 10 holes. Put small objects in some holes. 'How many are filled? How many are empty? Together that makes 10!'
- 4At dinner, share out items: '10 peas -- 6 for you, how many for me?'
- 5Hide some toys under a cloth: 'There are 8 altogether, but you can only see 3. How many are hiding?'
